Knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding HIV/AIDS among pregnant females attending the antenatal clinic: a study at Dr. S. N. Medical College in Jodhpur, India

Background: AIDS, caused by HIV, is a global health threat that weakens the immune system and leads to life-threatening infections. India has been heavily affected HIV/AIDS epidemic due lack of accurate information prevention efforts. Mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) significant factor in HIV spread. Knowledge status through voluntary counseling testing (VCT) crucial. Despite efforts, remains major public challenge India. Methods: A study at Dr. S.N. Medical College focused on pregnant women antenatal clinic. Using questionnaire, data was collected from 100 participants socio-demographics, knowledge, attitudes, practices. Results: Most were aged 21-30, with 48 having 6-10 years education. The majority identified as Hindu, 89 housewives. revealed gaps many lacking awareness misconceptions. Stigma fear also prevalent, but recognition abstinence preventive measure observed. Conclusions: Targeted interventions, education, campaigns are necessary enhance dispel misconceptions, reduce stigma among clinics. Policies, programs, strategies should be developed incidence prevalence. Future research address knowledge gaps, promote understanding HIV/AIDS, focus preventing mother-to-child transmission, ultimately working towards ending AIDS threat.
